Modern Slavery Statement

Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps Man with Van Nunhead has taken, and continues to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking occurring within our business operations and supply chains. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our operations.

Our Business and Supply Chains

Man with Van Nunhead provides local and regional transport, removals, and associated services. Our activities rely on a small team of directly engaged workers and a network of suppliers and subcontractors, including vehicle hire companies, fuel providers, equipment and packaging suppliers, and occasional labour support. We recognise that the greatest risk of modern slavery is likely to arise within extended supply chains, particularly where work may be outsourced, seasonal, or low paid.

Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery

We operate a clear zero-tolerance policy on all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced or compulsory labour, and child labour. This applies to everyone working for or on behalf of Man with Van Nunhead, including employees, casual staff, agency workers, contractors, and suppliers. Any confirmed incident of modern slavery linked to our business will result in decisive action, which may include termination of contracts, reporting to the relevant authorities, and support for impacted individuals where appropriate.

Responsibilities and Governance

Overall responsibility for our approach to modern slavery rests with the business owner and management team. They are responsible for ensuring that policies are up to date, communicated effectively, and embedded into everyday decision making. Managers who engage suppliers or subcontractors are required to consider the risk of modern slavery when appointing and reviewing these partners and to escalate any concerns promptly.

Supplier Standards and Audits

We expect all suppliers and subcontractors to share our commitment to preventing modern slavery. When entering into or renewing arrangements, we assess suppliers against standards that include fair pay, safe working conditions, and legal right to work. Where appropriate, we ask suppliers to confirm that they have their own anti-slavery policies and due diligence in place.

We reserve the right to audit suppliers proportionate to the level of risk and the nature of the goods or services provided. These audits may consider recruitment practices, use of subcontracted labour, working hours, and mechanisms for workers to raise concerns. If an audit or assessment identifies non-compliance, we will seek corrective action within a defined timeframe. Serious or repeated failures may lead to the suspension or termination of the business relationship.

Reporting Channels and Raising Concerns

We are committed to creating an environment where concerns about modern slavery can be raised without fear of retaliation. Any worker, supplier, subcontractor, or member of the public who suspects that modern slavery may be occurring in connection with our activities is encouraged to report their concerns to management as soon as possible. Reports can be made verbally or in writing and will be treated sensitively and, where possible, confidentially.

All reports will be taken seriously and investigated promptly. Where there is evidence of wrongdoing, we will take appropriate action, which may include notifying law enforcement, regulatory bodies, or specialist support organisations. No one will suffer any detriment for raising a concern in good faith, even if it is not ultimately substantiated.

Training and Awareness

We aim to ensure that key members of staff and managers understand the risks of modern slavery and know how to identify and respond to potential issues. Training and awareness activities focus on recognising warning signs, understanding our policies and procedures, and knowing how to escalate concerns effectively.

Continuous Improvement and Annual Review

Man with Van Nunhead is committed to the ongoing improvement of our approach to tackling modern slavery. We periodically review our risk assessment, supplier standards, and due diligence processes to reflect changes in our business, supply chains, and best practice guidance.

This statement will be reviewed at least annually by the business owner and management team to ensure it remains accurate, effective, and aligned with our ethical commitments. Where necessary, we will update our policies, training, and supplier engagement activities to strengthen our ability to prevent and respond to modern slavery and human trafficking.

This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Nunhead and represents our ongoing commitment to protecting the rights and dignity of all individuals connected to our business.
